COVID-19 Response Plan for Season 3 2020

March 12, 2020

Hello everyone.

As many of you have noticed, the world is facing a crisis due to the spread of COVID-19. People are scared and as a medical professional I am taking this very seriously. While the overall risk to most people is low, the virus is very dangerous to older people in our home communities and those with existing health issues. Stopping the spread of this virus will take a national effort. Everyone must do their part.

That said our first event is not until Mid May 2020. At the time of writing (March 12, 2020) our first event is still two months away. The situation is evolving rapidly and at this time I am not prepared to make a decision about if our May Event should be canceled. At this time the Camp has not closed or canceled on us. Rescheduling will not be an option so our options are run as planned or cancel.

I am going to be watching this carefully over the next 6 weeks. If the situation changes for the worse, or if the CDC or the Commonwealth of PA makes a decree which would force us to cancel, then announcements will be made via our Facebook group and on our website A decision about the May Event will be made no later than May 1st.

I want everyone to know that Three Raccoon Productions will always refund any event a player cannot make for any reason, not just COVID-19. In addition a player may always choose to apply the event fee to their next event, or choose to “pay no play” and get the skill point for the missed event. In the event of an event cancelation these three options will be enacted and players may take the option of their choosing.

Now to the less fun part. I am asking, begging really, that if you are sick, if you have symptoms of any kind such as a cough, fever, muscle soreness, or other indicators of the common cold or flu within 10 days of the event; that you please stay home and do not attend the event. This is out of an abundance of caution that we ask this. Please take this seriously. We will always be happy to see you at the next event but do not risk your friends and loved ones by ignoring this crucial but basic way to help contain the spread of illness. No game is worth your health, the health of your community or the health of your loved ones. If you choose to attend an event and are found to be displaying these symptoms you will be asked to leave. Please don’t make me do that.

Finally, Three Raccoon Productions will be increasing our supplies of hand sanitizer and setting up stations to help with the number one thing we can all do: WASH OUR HANDS. We are going to do everything we can to maintain player safety assuming our season is able to run without a hitch.

I know this is all a lot to take in and I know uncertainty about the May Event may make people hesitant to pre-register or attend. There will never be hard feelings about that. We are all in this together and our communities will only beat this by respecting the seriousness of the situation and respecting each other. We are a charity. Our mission is to do good works. We can’t do that if we don’t also take care of each other.

I hope this information is helpful. We will of course keep communication open with everyone and anyone with questions is welcome to email us at .
